Course Description:

This seminar will introduce first- and second-year students to nationally competitive scholarship opportunities open to undergraduates (including, but not limited to, the Rhodes, Fulbright, Marshall, and others).  We’ll discuss the qualities that successful applicants demonstrate--academic achievement, leadership and civic engagement, research experience, global awareness--and consider strategies for making the most of the tremendous resources Syracuse University has to offer. You’ll hear from a variety of experts about the value of developing the passion and skills necessary to be competitive for prestigious fellowships, service opportunities, graduate school, or the job market. Minimum GPA of 3.5 suggested.  Open to first- and second-year students, including non-Honors students.
