Course Description:

An introduction to chemical laboratory techniques. Experiments are designed to provide an understanding of physical measurements of chemical systems. Topics include surface tension and viscosity, molecular weight determination, polymer synthesis, thermodynamics of gases and solutions, chemical equilibrium, biochemical isolation and molecular absorption spectroscopy. General principles underlying the experiments are emphasized. Credit is given for CHE 107 or CHE 129, but not both.
